Everything it does
The whole job, on one record.
A customer calls. You quote them, they approve it, it becomes a job on the board, someone works it, it becomes an invoice, and they pay it. Field Blasters is that line, start to finish, without retyping anything into a second system.
Scheduling and dispatch
- Day, week and month, with a lane for each technician
- Drag a job to move it; a phone shows one lane at a time
- Capacity by role, so a helper is not booked as a lead
- Blocked time, days off, and jobs that run over two days
- Arrival windows the customer is actually promised
- Drive-time estimates between consecutive stops
- A waiting tray that suggests where unscheduled work fits
Customers
- One record per customer, with as many service addresses as they have
- Property facts kept per address, not per person
- Full job history, notes and an activity trail
- Archive and a trash that holds deletions for 30 days
- Bring your existing list in from a spreadsheet, with a mapping step
- Address autocomplete included — no Google account, no API key
Quotes, jobs and visits
- Build a quote from your price book; send it as a link
- The customer approves it themselves, with a timestamp
- An approved quote becomes a job without being retyped
- Photos on the job, before and after
- A quote sent in March keeps March's prices, whatever you charge now
Invoices and getting paid
- Invoice from a finished job in one step
- Pay by link, card on file, or a card taken at the door
- Cheques and cash recorded properly, not bolted on
- Your own Stripe account — your dashboard, your refunds, your bank
- Every payment recorded by the payment processor, never by a browser
Maintenance plans
- Real recurring subscriptions, not repeating calendar entries
- Pause over winter and resume, without re-selling
- Add-ons on a single visit, approved by the customer
- Members who pay by cheque instead of card
- Private one-off plans, sent for approval
- The agreement as a real PDF
Your customers' side
- A portal with their appointments, quotes, invoices and plan
- No password — a private link that reaches only their account
- An online booking page, once your business can actually take a booking
- Email that comes from your business name, with replies to you
Your crew
- A time clock that knows whether they punched in at a job or at home
- Technicians request a correction; you approve or reject it
- Weekly overtime, labour cost, and a payroll export
- Per-person permissions — what they see, and what they may do
- An office role for whoever works the phones rather than a route
On a phone
- Installs to the home screen and opens like any other app
- Built for a phone first, because that is where the work happens
- The day, the route, the job, the photos, the clock
- Keeps working through a dead zone and catches up after
It is a web app, not an App Store download
Your crew adds it to their home screen once and it behaves like any
other app after that. We would rather say so than have you find out.
The other list
What Field Blasters does not do.
This is the list most software websites leave out. It is shorter to read now than to discover in week three.
Text messages
Sending a text from your business name means registering your company
with the US phone carriers under its own legal name — real paperwork,
weeks of it, and it is not done. Email to your customers works today.
Texting does not, and there is no date for it.
Email marketing and campaigns
No newsletters, no mass sends, no drip sequences. Transactional email —
confirmations, quotes, invoices, receipts — works.
Accounting integrations
No QuickBooks, no Xero, no Zapier, no public API. You can export what
you need as a spreadsheet, and that is the whole story.
Calendar sync
Nothing syncs to Google Calendar, Outlook or iCal.
Automated review requests
You will have to ask your customers yourself, like everyone did until
recently.
Job costing and margins
Materials, per-job profit and labour costing against a job do not
exist. You can see labour cost for a pay period; you cannot see the
margin on Tuesday's gutter clean.
Sales tax by jurisdiction
One tax rate for the whole business. Fine in Utah. A problem if you
cross county lines into different rates.
Route optimisation
The board shows drive-time estimates between stops, based on
straight-line distance and an average speed you set. It is genuinely
useful for spotting a bad day. It is not a routing engine and does not
pretend to be.
